Sunday services
Our Sunday services are the beating heart of our communal life. When we meet each week, we gather around the Gospel by sharing the thanksgiving meal that Jesus gave us (aka ‘The Eucharist’, or ‘Holy Communion’, or ‘The Lord’s Supper’), and by worshipping God through singing, prayer, and even chatting over a brew; this communal expression of faith and worship animates everything else we do. There’s nothing spectacular about this. We are just normal folk called together by God, and living out our ordinary lives with the extraordinary Spirit of God.
unity and diversity
We are two diverse expressions of church, but we are one parish united in vision and mission. Having both unity and diversity means that we can span the breadth of the Anglican tradition to which we belong, and plumb the depths of the God’s Church at large. So, whether you prefer something more contemplative and traditional, or something livelier and more charismatic, we all have a part to play in making the Church a home for everyone.

where you can find us
St John the Evangelist
10:00am │ Upper Church Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN37 7AR
Our more contemplative service, following the liturgy of the Church of England, with traditional hymns, and prayers, in a beautiful Victorian church.
The church building itself is fully accessible with ramps into up into the nave and plenty of room for wheelchairs towards the back. It includes a hearing loop on the south side of the nave by the organ. Children are always welcome and free to be children throughout the service.
There is a children’s corner at the back with a few toys.
NB: The toilet is situated in the church room which is the small building next door, we do not currently have a disabled toilet. Our planned building project seeks to address this issue in the not too distant future.
The Eucharist
Our thanksgiving meal in which we praise God for His faithfulness, grace, and love in Jesus, the Eucharist is the “high point” of our worship in both settings.
But, whether you have no faith and just want to observe,
or faith smaller than a mustard seed,
or faith that can move mountains,
whether you love the Lord a little,
but you would like to love Him more,
everyone is welcome at the table.
Being a large and diverse parish with limited resources, we can’t always observe this feast every week, depending on which of our team is doing what and where, but you can always be guaranteed an atmosphere of worship, a thought-provoking and encouraging talk, and as ever a warm and friendly welcome.
And just as it wouldn’t be church without bread and wine, it also wouldn’t be church without tea and biscuits, so do stick around after our services to get connected and make friends over a brew.
St peter & St Paul
(aka “P&P”)
10:15am │ Parkstone Road, Hastings, TN34 2NT
Our more informal charismatic service, with a band singing contemporary songs, in a modern setting.
The first Sunday of each month is our families service aimed at children, where we sing and dance, learn a Bible story together, a memory verse. Again, children are always welcome and are free to be and do whatever they need to throughout the service. There is a children’s corner with some books and activities in the sanctuary too.
There is also a building project in the works for P&P, to extend the church room, and improve the facilities and accessibility. Click here, to find out more.
